[Guest Post] 5 Incredible Vegas Restaurants
Thursday, July 11, 2013
Next to casinos, nightclubs and shows, Las Vegas is probably best known for fine dining options. Really, though, it's always seemed like the restaurants are a bit like everything else - focused mostly on appearance and experience. This is fine and dandy for a casino floor or a Cirque du Soleil show, but for fine dining the food needs to be just as amazing! At one of Vegas's newer resorts, you'll find the exception rather than the rule - the food is as delicious as they are beautiful.
The ARIA resort, a classy departure from your usual gaudy hotels in Vegas, is luxurious, dapper and state-of-the-art. Dining is equally exceptional, and at the following 5 locations, you'll find some of the very best food in town.
Spanish tapas is still in season, so if you love this style of dining, don't pass up on trying Julian Serrano. The extensive menu includes tapas mainstays like crispy pancetta, spicy croquetas, savoury white anchovy fillets and black pig pintxo topped with perfectly caramelized onions. What really sets Julian Serrano apart though, is the incredibly chic atmosphere, with walls of blending warm colors and artificial trees tastefully interspersed with tables.
Sage may be an expensive option, but the food, which emphasizes clean flavours and seasonal ingredients, is well worth it. The concept of the restaurant is one that deftly marries comfort food with sophistication. Steak, seafood and pasta feature strongly on the menu, and you can expect spins on familiar favourites - think New York strip steak paired with decadent beef marrow. Flavors are robust, and the restaurant itself feels nothing short of royal.
This is Italian with a modern twist. Expect inventive options with strong Tuscan influences like hand-rolled thick spaghetti and spinach-infused home-made fusilli pasta dishes. Not your neighborhood Italian restaurant, and almost certainly better!
If you're a fan of Mexican food, be sure to make this a stop on your next trip to Vegas. It may be pricier than most of us are used to for Mexican food, but the second you try the chips and salsa you'll be a convert. The menu sticks to traditional Mexican roots and boasts exceptional flavors. The restaurant itself is gorgeous (chic and modern without being too pretentious). Don't visit without a margarita! Actually, why not make it two?
Jean Philippe Patisserie
Finally, don't miss Jean Philippe Patisserie. It's not a "restaurant" (though there are crepes and sandwiches) so much as a decadent dessert stop. Do yourself a favor and stop by for a treat - the exquisite pastries, bonbons and truffles are just delicious.
